It surely gets your focus on the blessings, which we all
have many of.
Just when you think you are at your last straw, God shows up
and showers us once more so we have one more thing to be positive about. Positive
doing not positive thinking.
All the positive thinking in the world will have little effect
unless it is supported by the five other things that we do in our heads:
the sounds,
the pictures,
the feelings,
tastes and
smells.
All have to be positive in order not to sabotage the positive thinking (the self talk!) Anything less than 100% alignment will not produce the results you desire!

Let's keep noticing them; life is too short to dwell on the
difficult. It just robs your energy.
Take those things and place them on one hand, then take all
the blessings and place them on the other hand.
If you place the bad one on top it is hard to see what is
great below. Now place the blessings hand on top, and that is what shouts out
at you.
You can still see the negative below, but it is much harder
to focus on it when looking through a positive filter.
