The ultimate touchstone of friendship is not improvement,
neither of the other nor of the self: the ultimate touchstone is witness,
the
privilege of having been seen by someone and the equal privilege of being
granted the sight of the essence of another,
to have walked with them and to
have believed in them, and sometimes just to have accompanied them for however
brief a span, on a journey impossible to accomplish alone.
When will humanity stop apologizing for being alive?
When will we stop projecting God onto others and see her staring
at us in every mirror?
When will we fully realize that each of us is a unique and
essential carrier of the God-seed?
When will we truly begin to honour the self- the soul’s
temple- and stop burying it alive under a bushel of shame?
When will we begin to truly love ourselves without getting
in our own way?
When will we prioritize sacred purpose as a way of being?
I want to live in a world where every God-seed grows into
its wholeness, where each one of us recognizes how bloody magnificent we are,
where we wake up in the morning and celebrate every soul every moment.
We have a long way to go, but let’s never lose sight of
where we are going. We are going to get there.
I am sure of it.
