In the process of living, the winds of circumstances blow on us all in an unending flow that touches each of our lives...
What guides us to different destinations in life is determined by the way we have chosen to set our sail. The way that each of us thinks makes the major difference in where each of us arrives.
The major difference is the set of the sail.
No matter what you're trying to accomplish, whether it's writing a book, climbing a mountain, or painting a house, the key to achievement is your ability to break down the task into manageable pieces and knock them off one at a time.
Focus on accomplishing what's right in front of you at the moment. Ignore what's off in the distance some place.
Goals are like a magnet. They pull, and the stronger they are, the more purposeful they are, the bigger they are, the more unique they are, the stronger they pull.
If you have excellent goals and high dreams, they will pull you through all kinds of down days and down seasons.
Do not neglect to learn everything you can as you go through life. Let life teach you, touch you and move you.
Let the experiences and seasons you go through make you stronger and wiser.
Learn to work harder on yourself than you do on your job. I've worked hard on my personal development, and I must admit that this has been the most challenging assignment of all.
This business of personal development lasts a lifetime.
But there's the great axiom of life:
To have more than you've got, become more than you are.
Unless you change how you are, you'll always have what you've got.
