Psychology is a great tool for explaining human behaviour but it does nothing to change behaviour.
In my opinion, it can actually work against positive change as we unintentionally become MORE identified with our negative self-assessments by constantly repeating our story of hurt and humiliation.
We can transmute our story by creating a positive context to frame our past experience that is rooted in a sense of possibility for the future.
Put simply, we define our purpose in life based on a constructive interpretation of challenges that we have faced.
Once we define our purpose ALL of our choices can now organize around it. That is how we transform and become the person we were born to be.
Otherwise our lives are simply habitual patterns of behaviour and thinking rooted in the belief that we are flawed based on our difficult past.
